A Rush of Wings

About the Book:

Though her panic is real, Noelle St. Claire is uncertain what danger she is fleeing. Fragmented images and slivers of memory have driven her to abandon her wealthy, sheltered life in New York for the hope of a haven-remote and safe.  Noelle's arrival at the Rocky Mountain horse ranch owned by Rick Spencer and his brother Morgan causes more than a little stir. Beautiful, vulnerable, yet strangely secretive, Noelle is an enigma the two contrasting brothers seek to unlock. But as their attentions breach the wall she hides behind, the past becomes a menacing threat from which Noelle can no longer hide.

Cafe Lily's Review:

Kristen Heitzmann is a gifted author and her talent shines through in A Rush of Wings.

This book was interesting because not only is the main character completely out of her element, the story combines ingredients of romance, suspense, action adventure and mystery.  Though there is a lot of detail to keep up with, the author has crafted the story to flow well and is able to draw the reader effortlessly into the life of Noelle St. Claire.

At first, I wasn’t sure exactly where the plot was headed but by the middle of the book, I was so engrossed with the characters, all that mattered was getting to the end!  I found myself intrigued by two brothers falling for the same woman and was curious as to who Noelle would choose, if either of them.  Rick Spencer and his brother Morgan are polar opposites and make for interesting suitors.

Rick is the God-fearing perfect gentlemen who loves his life as a rancher and is satisfied with the simple things.  Morgan Spencer is a restless free spirit who chases life in the fast lane and doesn’t bother trying to hide his raw physical attraction to Noelle.   Noelle however is a complex woman for these two and comes to them with secrets and emotional baggage.  She ends up at the Morgan family ranch, focused on wading through the muddy waters of her life.  For the first time all on her own, Noelle is wanting to stretch her wings and sort through the mess she calls a life.

Once started, this book is very hard to put down and fans of Kristen’s previous titles will again be swept away by A Rush of Wings.
