The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast

The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast is an inspiring resource for Christians who want to pursue a more intimate relationship with God through the 21-day commitment to prayer and fasting known as the Daniel Fast.

As you deny yourself certain foods—such as sugars, processed ingredients, and solid fats—you will not only embrace healthier eating habits, you’ll also discover a greater awareness of God’s presence. Author Kristen Feola explains the Daniel Fast in easy-to-understand language, provides 21 thought-provoking devotionals for each day of the fast, and shares more than 100 tasty, easy-to-make recipes that follow fasting guidelines. In a conversational style, Feola helps you structure the fast so you can spend less time thinking about what to eat and more time focusing on God. You will also discover that “to fast” means “to feast” on the only thing that truly nourishes you - God’s powerful Word.

The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast by Kristen Feola is very organized, thorough and easy to read.  I like the layout of the book and how it breaks down into three main parts:  The Fast, The Focus and The Food.  This book is helpful for a wide range of readers including those who have never fasted before.   Kristen gives not only the basis of why Christians should fast but writes about the benefits of fasting, both natural and spiritual.

Along with delicious recipes and colorful photos, the book includes 21 daily devotions for the reader to use as a supplement.  These devotions include Bible verses for additional study and inspirational testimonies of those who have completed the fast.  In the back, readers can find frequently asked questions (and answers), additional Bible verses to “feed” on, and a Daniel Fast menu planning tool.

Kristen also includes her own personal testimony of how her life changed after doing the Daniel Fast with her church.  From that experience, this book was born, combining Kristen’s love for cooking and writing in a way she never imagined.

This book is a perfect companion to those who are interested in doing the Daniel Fast and need support, recipes, and a guideline.  Readers will find the suggestions offered make it easy to meal plan according to their individual likes and dislikes and make adjustments as needed.

For further encouragement and motivation, you can visit Kristen’s blog at and read testimonies of those who are also on the fast.
