Where God’s will leads, God’s grace keeps
Kay Arthur’s book, As Silver Refined, includes a 13-week companion study guide, which is perfect for group or personal study time.
In this book, Kay teaches readers that disappointing situations in our life are like fiery flames. God takes these flames and uses them to refine us, hence the references to “silver refined”. If we yield to the Refiner’s fire, God takes our failures and disappointments and refines them into something beautiful. But if we resist His refining fire, we end up impure and unusable. Kay explores both options; being flexible and usable, as well as being unsubmissive and unyielding. Having an eternal perspective will help us see past our failures.
Kay points out that anyone who wants to live for God, will not do so unopposed. Warfare is inevitable and our enemy, the devil, has a plan of attack. Other important topics covered in this book are principles of warfare, how to handle disappointment biblically, the danger of the deadly “D’s, and more.
This book is very timely for anyone struggling or facing the tough questions of life. Kay encourages her readers that no matter how weak they are from their trials, they can rejoice because God’s grace is sufficient and His power is perfected in weakness.
