Cafe Lily's Review:
This is a wonderful "feel-good" family movie, especially appealing for those who love baseball. Luke Schroder (who looks just like his father, Rick Schroder!!) does a fantastic job with his debut role in this movie. This story is based on the book, The Legend of Mickey Tussler by Frank Nappi and tells the story of Mickey Tussler, an 18 year old boy with Asperger’s Syndrome. Mickey is an only child and lives on a farm in Indiana. He is discovered by River Rats baseball coach Arthur Murphy (played by Dean Cain), who is looking for a pitcher. Mickey has never been away from the family farm and his overprotective parents reluctantly agree to let him try out for the semi-professional baseball team.
From there, a heart-warming story evolves and although there a few scenes that are hard to watch (Mickey gets picked on), overall this is a fantastic, clean movie! I highly recommend adding this one to your movie library!
