Wish You Were Here

Wish You Were Here is Beth's first fiction novel, though she's no stranger to the writing world.

This book is fun and light hearted, and full of unexpected twists and turns.   It starts with a bride-to-be who accidentally kisses her fiancee's brother days before the wedding.   From that one kiss, a spiral effect takes place and Allison Denman finds herself in a mess!

As her wedding day approaches, tensions mount and Allison begins to question everything she's known and felt up until this point.   This is a case of "cold feet" gone extreme and I found it interesting that her intended groom was a bit oblivious to her anxiety.  Of course that could be because he's arrogant and self absorbed, even right down to overriding her on the wedding plans.

I liked this book, but I didn't love it.  It was ok for me, and was a cute, light hearted read.

About The Book:
Allison Denman is supposed to get married in five days, but everything is all wrong. The huge wedding. The frothy dress. And the groom.

Still, kissing the groom’s brother in an unguarded moment is decidedly not the right thing to do. How could she have made such a mistake? It seems Allison’s life is nothing but mistakes at this point. And pulling a “Runaway Bride” complete with stealing, er, borrowing her best friend’s car doesn’t seem to solve her problems.
Can Allison find her way out of this mess? Maybe she just needs to stop orchestrating everything. Allison prefers being the one in control, and giving it up is not going to be easy. But to find her way again, she will have to believe that God has a plan for her and find the strength to let Him lead.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Howard Books.
