I was so impressed by this cookbook!  From novice to expert, there is great information for all levels of canning expertise.  I loved the "history" section, and looking through this cookbook brought back fond memories of the many hours my mother spent in the kitchen, canning her garden produce.  

The author makes a great point about how safety procedures have changed, and you'll find the updated information in this cookbook. The author is a certified master food preserver (I didn't even know they existed!) and teaches her readers how to enjoy safe, healthy, natural foods through canning. 

And for you Mason jar lovers like myself? The history of Mason jars is mentioned and the author explains the progression of them from the basic fruit jar, to the Atlas and so on.
