Words Spoken True

I am always happy to get my hands on an Ann Gabhart book and this title proved to be no different for me.

The main character, Adriane Darcy is in quite a dilemma and finds herself torn between pleasing her father and securing his future or following her heart.

Promised to a man she doesn’t love, Adriane dreads her upcoming wedding and tries to busy herself so that she doesn’t have to think about it. More in love with her father’s newspaper than anything or anyone else, Adriane can’t bear the thought of giving it all up to become a “proper” wife. However, the financial benefits of marrying a wealthy businessman weigh on her heavily and she’ll have to decide if she wants to be secure, or happy.

Just when Adriane is confused beyond measure, along comes Blake Garrett, who immediately becomes the enemy when he takes on the competing newspaper in town. Sparks fly between the two and Adriane finds herself fascinated by the very man she should stay the farthest away from.

I enjoyed the conflict of this story and had a suspicion of what might happen, but was still very much surprised by the ending of this story. Every book I have read by Ann has wonderfully complex characters and issues, and I never find myself bored with her stories.
