What Momma Left Behind By: Cindy K. Sproles

Life changes in an instant for Worie Dressar and suddenly she is following in her mother's footsteps, closer than she ever imagined.  As the days progress, Worie makes some surprising discoveries, learning that what her mother left behind was more than love and memories.

Worie faces several challenges as life unfolds and she takes on the responsibility of her family and tries to carry on her mother's legacy. The very first chapter starts out with drama and heartache, depicting just how hard life is for these mountain people.

The dialect is a little hard to follow at times, due to the "folk speek" of the Appalachian characters.  However, readers who are familiar with Appalachian historical fiction, should have no issues following along.
