The Christmas Swap by Melody Carlson

This was a lighthearted quick read, but really didn't fit the theme of a "Christmas" story. There wasn't much in the way of the "warm fuzzies"  readers would normally associate with this time of year so I was a little surprised as I read this.

It was mostly focused on two families swapping homes for the holidays, and the majority of the story focused around one family and their experience with the swap. You don't really get to know much about the second family.

There's quite a bit of attitude from a couple of the characters all through the book so that kind of puts a damper on the Christmas spirit. This is a very clean "romance" novel and you won't find and steamy scenes, but you also don't find much that relates to the Christmas story as we know it. There's no caroling or church choir, no popcorn or tree trimming...the end felt a bit rushed to me and the entired book kind of wrapped up in an odd way.

If you want a very quick read, this one will do.  But if you're looking for a "deep" story with a meaningful, heartfelt connection to Christmas, you may be disappointed.
